current status:
* Jan 20: we merged a set of bugfixes that were in the pipeline, because I
wouldn't wanna post an RC with a known, easy to fix bug.
* Jan 21: merged C2 protocol changes after checking with MiNiFi Java people,
to keep the two as compatible as we can
* Jan 23: the merge date of a python lifetime bug Gábor discovered a day or so
before
* Jan 24: After running the manually triggered "verify packages" job, Martin
checked what was breaking it: when loading libpython, we were looking for
`libpython<version>.so*`, but on Rocky Linux 8, it's called
`libpython<version>m.so`, so loading failed. Fix coming today or Monday.
I'll prepare the RC when the last one is done, and we don't discover more
issues.
