[~pvillard] [~exceptionfactory] So by the looks of it, the fix for this got
lost during the Kafka refactoring work. I can still see the stream being casted
to a BufferedInputStream() within the PublishKafka class. Seems like an easy
fix, however I'm not sure how this could be tested exactly.
