   # Summary

   [NIFI-15081](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-15081) Deprecates
anonymous authentication over HTTPS for removal.

   The `nifi.security.allow.anonymous.authentication` property enables
anonymous authentication, but not authorization, to the NiFi UI and REST API.
This property defaults to `false` and requires implementing a custom
Authorizer, as described in the Administrator's Guide. NiFi 1.12.0 introduced
the property and disabled it by default. This property provided a temporary
workaround for access issues with advanced user interfaces until NiFi 1.14.0.

NiFi 2 continues to support plain HTTP, without authentication or
authorization, although this is not recommended. With the default configuration
enabling HTTPS and requiring authentication, the allow anonymous authentication
property and associated support should be deprecated for removal in subsequent
releases.
