Pierre Villard resolved NIFI-5939.
----------------------------------
    Resolution: Feedback Received

Apache NiFi 1.x is no longer maintained and no new release is planned on the
1.x release line. Marking as resolved as part of a cleanup operation. Please
open a new one with an updated description if this is still relevant for NiFi
2.x.

> The docs for File Filter (Unpack processor) still need to be more clear for
> beginners

> Project: Apache NiFi
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Documentation & Website
> Affects Versions: 1.8.0
> Reporter: Pete Rivett
> Priority: Minor
>
> An improvement was made in NIFI-3549 but that still resulted in only:
> “Only files contained in the archive whose names match the given regular
> expression will be extracted”
> I’m guessing (based on looking at the code) that “names” here means the full
> path of the entries within the archive, including any parent directories.
> What’s less clear is what ends up being used as the directory separator. Is
> it “/” or could it be “\” in the Windows environment? I'd hope the former in
> order to make processes portable.
> Either way I think the documentation could be improved, and some sample
> regular expressions would help.
