Stefan Kuettner commented on NIFI-12007:
----------------------------------------

I'd like to add another fundamental operational problem that could easily be
solved by supporting parameterized RPG URLs.

The moment a remote cluster endpoint changes, for example due to a migration or
infrastructure redesign, every affected RPG has to be updated.
While this can be automated via the API, the need for such automation only
exists because RPG URLs cannot currently be parameterized.

It would really be great if this enhancement could be reconsidered in the near
term.

> We've been using some Remote Process Groups to transmit data between
> clusters.  Those RPGs are stored within a NiFi Registry-versioned Process
> Group, but the "URLs" field, specifically, doesn't support Parameter values,
> which would make it much easier to use a single version of the Process Group
> across multiple clusters.
