Andrew Lim commented on NIFI-3539:
----------------------------------

Here are my thoughts on some of the high level scenarios "deep linking" can
solve, ordered by what I think is most helpful to users:

1. Direct link to a Process Group. Probably the most useful scenario,
especially to direct a user to a PG that he/she has permissions to (covered by
NIFI-3035)
2. Direct link to a component (Processor, Funnel, Port, etc); component would
be centered in the canvas and appropriate zoom set
3. Direct link to global menu windows with results sorted/filtered
4. Direct link to a component’s Data Provenance with results sorted
5. Direct link to a component’s Configuration with a specific tab selected
6. Direct link to sub windows for #2
7. Direct link to a component’s Status History

> Add "deep linking" capability to NiFi

>
> Provide exact URLs to specific areas/views of the application. Examples:
> -In the Data provenance window, a URL could show results for a specific
> search with sorting applied
> -A URL which highlights a processor, centers it in view and resets the zoom.
> -Similarly, a URL which opens the configuration window for a specific
> processor and takes the user to a specific configuration tab
