    Yes. The only time it wouldn't apply is if a user wanted to remove a field 
like they misnamed the `username` field as `yusername`. They can fix that with:
    
    ```
    {
        "yusername": "....",
        "$set": {
             "username": ".....",
         },
         "$unset": {
             "yusername": 1
         }
    }
    ```
