Joseph Witt commented on NIFI-5555:
-----------------------------------
visual indicator on the flow graph/everywhere we show the processor in listings
is good. In a way it would be a permanent (as long as that component is used)
bulletin indicator.
> Add visual indicators for deprecated components

> Key: NIFI-5555

> Project: Apache NiFi
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Core UI
> Reporter: Pierre Villard
> Priority: Major
>
> Since NiFi 1.3.0 and NIFI-391, we can add a
> {noformat}
> @DeprecationNotice{noformat}
> annotation to components that we want to deprecate.
> As of now, this deprecation notice is only reflected in the Usage
> documentation. But it can be completely missed by users and it can also be
> completely unnoticed on existing workflows.
> I suggest the two following improvements:
> * In the component listing, strikethrough the line displaying the component
> and prefix the description with "DEPRECATED (see usage for more information)".
> * Just like we have a specific icon for processors running on the primary
> node only, it could be a good idea to have an icon with something like an
> exclamation mark instead of the "P".
> Thoughts?
