I would suggest to setup a [Prometheus
Pushgateway|https://github.com/prometheus/pushgateway] and push your metrics.
For code examples have a look at our
[repository|https://github.com/mkjoerg/nifi-prometheus-reporter].
Prometheus offers you [Alerting|https://prometheus.io/docs/alerting/overview].
