For example, it's my understanding that OrientDB doesn't implement IDs in a way that's simple like JanusGraph (just long integers) so hypothetically some things that might serialize cleanly with one implementation might not work with another. IMO we're not responsible for that unless there is some really easy way we can accommodate.
