Joern Kottmann commented on OPENNLP-556:
----------------------------------------
If the user does not use the correct parameters we should always output the
full usage data in my opinion, additionally we can output a hint about what is
wrong.
> CLI parser could report the bad parameters and flag them for the user

> Key: OPENNLP-556
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENNLP-556
> Project: OpenNLP
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Command Line Interface
> Affects Versions: tools-1.5.1-incubating, tools-1.5.2-incubating,
> tools-1.5.3
> Reporter: James Kosin
> Priority: Minor
>
> A mis-typed parameter can cause the parser to spit out the usage data e.g.:
> -model-type
> instead of the proper:
> -type
> Will cause the CLI to only spit out the usage for the command and not tell
> the user what is likely to be wrong... in this case a mis-typed parameter
> caused the problem.
> Maybe only outputting usage data when no parameters, in most cases, and other
> times outputting the problem or place of the error.
