--- Comment #3 from ianbrax <[email protected]> --- Hi Guy's, Sorry to be so vague. The best I can offer is: 1) It is a TEXT (.odt) file! 2) When the 'error'occurs the contents of the file are completely deleted, and then unretrieveable!! Leaving only an empty file! Has occurred again! I had entered two weeks (January's Journal) of data, CLOSEd the file and then EXITed the application. On re-opening the file I get the prompt about 'ASCII Filter Options'. I select the 'WESTERN' default and a new blank file is opened. If it NOT an actual bug(?) is it possible that I am making an inadvertent key-stroke or a trailing finger on the pad or combination of both maybe? Following on with the above thoughts, what are the possible 'short-cuts' to select the entire document you are working on, delete it and the original without putting it in the TRASH folder or, it appears from my various searches, anywhere else on ANY disk on, or connected to, my machine!! I think I may have to resort to a 'key-stroke logger' as I cannot give you guy's any other information to work with to try and bail me out before I go completely Ga-Ga!! If it not too late already of course! Sob! Any suggestions of 'FREE' or VERY Cheap KSL's out there I could rely on. Thanks to everyone that has looked at this, at any level, I am greatful and feeling sure it IS a personal issue ... self esteem gone through the floor!!
