It is likely some wrong settings on your PC. Please have a look at this places: 1. In Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > View you find the setting "Use system font for user interface". Is it checked or not? 2. In Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Fonts you find the font replacement table. Are there any entries? 3. There are settings for the desktop in WinXP.
