the InvisibleSoftReturn found WordPerfect starting with version 5.1 and used in
later versions is apparently not catered for by OpenOffice which means that
such sections of text when brought in from WordPerfect turn into solid bars of
text.
Since making extensive use of this during transliteration of certain ancient
scripts it becomes too much work to individually go through hundreds of pages
of text whenever a font or font size change is made.
So dispite OpenOffice being the desired program because of its many wonderful
features it is sadly unusable for my work.
my issue therefore is that the InvisibleSoftReturns from WordPerfect rather
than being simply stripped out of the document could replaced by an equivalent
in OpenOffice
