In general I don't recommend carrying too many fonts, especially since most of
the free fonts are pretty similar.
In the case of the Source Sans Pro fonts from Adobe I think they should be
bundled; they are really professional and convenient to have for a package like
OpenOffice.

It shouldn't be difficult task for a beginner:
Look at any of the fonts we bundle for all platforms in main/more_fonts/
(Gentium for example) and with some help from OpenGrok it should be easy to
figure out.
