For the first time I tried to save a document with a password today. I used a
17 character password under "save as".
It asked me to verify my password which I did. I noticed that the asterisks
stopped at 16 but typed in a 17th character anyway. The password verified and
it saved the document (as a .doc like I specified).
I tried to open the document with the 17 digit password and it said it was
incorrect. I tried opening the password with just the first 16 characters of
the password and it still would not open. I tried multiple times.
FWIW the password contained punctuation characters.
