Not any more, now you can copy selected rows from Base to Calc.

Click to the left of the record in the view to select it, Shift+Click to range
select and Ctrl+Click to select multiple, then Ctrl+C to copy and in Calc
Ctrl+V to paste.

I think this part of the issue was fixed.

Selecting a column and trying to copy only copies the field in the current row
of that column. This could be improved. I'll need to see what other databases
and spreadsheets do.
