Bug ID: 122426
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: 'Autosave' on Windows 8 machine
Product: General
Version: AOO 3.4.1
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 8
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: ui
Assignee: [email protected]

At work I use Open Office sitting on a Win8 - 64 bit machine ( a Dell ) AND I
have noticed that every so often the Windows Explorer locks up - the only
solution is to bring up the Task Manager and stop the Windows Explorer(s) that
are causing the issue. I think it is to do with the Autosave function - when
Windows Explorer is looking at the directory in which the file resides.
Once the Windows Explorer has been stopped using the Task manager - I can
re-open another Windows Explorer session and continue as before EXCEPT that
when it comes to powering down the machine at the end of the day - if I have
been using Open Office and had the issue - then the system ignores the shutdown
request - and although all the other windows are closed - it remains defiantly
refusing to shutdown.
I can continue to look into the issue - but I thought it a big enough issue to
raise with you immediately - so that you get thinking; whilst I hone the
specifics of the problem and make sure that it is an issue relating to the
Autosave function - rather than any other use of the Clipboard for example. ( I
will continue using Open Office without the Auto-save function enabled ) and
make sure that during my otherwise normal use of the system that nothing
un-toward happens.
