Isn't even possible, in theory, to have open source DRM that prevents copying?

Can't someone just rebuild AOO with the anti-copying code removed?  So long as
the user has access to the keys needed for decryption they can copy anything
they can decrypt.

In other words, the access/no-access side of DRM is enforced cryptographically,
but isn't the finer grained access just enforced by software logic?
