            Bug ID: 122726
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Insert picture from file - previous image retained
           Product: Impress
           Version: AOO 3.4.1
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Linux64
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: formatting
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

To whom it may concern,

This bug is related to importing images into Impress. This report will be in
three parts, 1) The exact process I undertook, 2) the process that I thought
would occur, and 3) where I think the bug occurs.

1) I dragged and dropped an image from File Browser (in this case Nautilus). I
then resized and positioned the image, duplicated the slide, selected the image
on the new slide and went to change the displayed image using the
Insert->Picture->From File. After this I moved to a different slide, but upon
coming back to the slide where I had inserted the new image, the image had
reverted back to the original image that I had dragged into Impress (though the
sizing and positioning changes were still maintained).

2) I intended to take use of the (great) feature in Impress where one can
insert and image from file, adjust the size and position, then duplicate the
slide, click on the image in the new slide and insert a new image that will
take the same size and position of the previous image.

3) I think the 'bug' is due to the drag and drop process. I have tried to
replicate the bug using the Insert command for the original and duplicated
image, but the new, inserted image is retained and does not revert back to the
original, i.e. the process is normal when using only the Insert command.

Please contact me if further information is required.

Kind regards,

Stephen Johnston
