Rainer Bielefeld <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED CC| |rainerbielefeld_ooo_qa@biel | |efeldundbuss.de Latest|--- |AOO 3.4.1 Confirmation on| | Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #10 from Rainer Bielefeld <[email protected]> --- Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.0-Dev – German UI / German locale [AOO400m3(Build:9702) - Rev. 1503709 (2013-07-17) ]" on German German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", Common 4.0-dev User Profile Steps how to reproduce (Preparation): 0. Launch LibO 1. Menu 'Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> General -> Save auto Recovery info every 1 Minutes' 2. Open attached Sample document 3. Click J85 and type an "y" 4. Click K85 Cell cursor around K85 5. When Progress Bar appears (shows autosave progress, auto save will take 10s or so) type "12345" Expected: After auto save has finished "12345 should appear Actual: Nothing, typed number is lost Additional info: ---------------- a) Not only a writer problem, if you copy / paste contents of the sample document to a blank new Writer document several times so that you have a 600 pages document you can do a similar test like steps 1 ... 5. Do a little change in the document, wait for appearing progress bar and then type some numbers. result: everything you type during auto save will be lost. b) I wonder what the fix for "Bug 4333 - auto-save causes discarded keystrokes" Might have been. See <https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=7986#c2> Can someone contribute a mail archive link? c) In the DUPs of Bug 4333 I read about "Wait for idle moment. But that only solves a part of the problem, if you had a little break with typing (because you had to read something before you can continue typing or what ever) and continue typing just after autosave has started the loss of typed characters will happen. d) My experience is that that problem is a smaller one. Among all other possibilities to loose typed words like Calendar Pop Ups and similar the problem is small for me. e) Very old problem -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
