--- Comment #3 from Edwin Sharp <[email protected]> --- data by email: Step 1 - got to asw file (this is a text file) S2 - right click on file to open with a text program. Only notepad and wordpad are available S2 - click on open with and select "browse" s3 - only program files is available so I click on "OS(c)" s4 - click on "program files (x86) - this is where OO is located S5 - click on Open Office 4 S6 - click on program files S7 - click on "swriter.exe S8 - back at select the program and swriter not on list of recommended programs Aha - I found a way to do it. At S6 I have to get a list of programs to select and OO isn't there. so redo S7 and select OpenOffice.exe. That puts OO in the list of selected programs. Then a prompt comes onf from OO to select a font (a waste at that step). I select the font and the files appears for editing. When saving I keep it in the old format. It looks like I have solved the problem by seeing an alternative way to solve the program. It would be nice not to have to select the font think every time but that is a minor inconvenience.
