I have been using openoffice since version 1.15. I have a writer project with
28 files which must all be open at the same time. Everything worked fine in
version 3.4.1. But in version 4.0.0 the files all open, then the program does
some strange switching between files, then the entire screen goes grey with an
our glass. Either left or right clicking brings up a dialog that the program
has run into a problem and must close. Trying to run it again invokes the file
recovery dialog, which when finished simply stops with both buttons greyed.
Clicking them causes the dialog to close and the files to load, then it
switches files, the whole screen goes grey, etc, as described above.
If I run the debug option (I am an experienced programmer) it points to a
return instruction in the ntdll a few bytes before the label
"KiUserApoDispatcher". I don't have time to pursue debugging any further
myself.
The bottom line is that at this time version 4.0.0 is totally unusable for me.
