Well, fine for Debian users!
OK then, I will change from Win7 to Debian ... 

Seriously, have you considered that fonts on Linux/Debian are quite different
from those on Windows and also its handling - not to speak of that completely
different Writer binaries?

In fact Windows can handle missing glyphs in font tables by filling these gaps
using replacement fonts. But I presume that this functionality is ignored in
OpenOffice/Writer (well at least since version 4 - cause I never had this
before) due to platform exchangeability issues.
