mshah7 <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #4 from mshah7 <[email protected]> --- Replicated the bug successfully under the following environment & configuration: Operating System: Windows 8 System type: 64-bit operating system Open Office Version: 4.0.1 Build: 9714 - Rev. 1524958 Steps and observations to encounter the bug: 1. I opened a new text document in Open Office and made numbering on and then wrote some lines. Then I inserted table and copied the above line into the table and the result was the numbering style of the lines pasted was retained and the pasted text is associated with another number. 2. I opened a new text document in Open Office, made numbering on and then I wrote some lines. Then I made numbering off and wrote some lines and then again I turned it on after inserting a table and copied the lines written with numbering on into the table. Result was 1st cell had number 1 as I turned the numbering on after inserting the table but the numbering style of the copied text was retained in every other cell. Also, when I copied the text written with numbering off then text is pasted with no number associated even when the numbering of the table is kept on before copying, as it retains the font of the copied text. 3. I again opened a new text document in Open Office and made numbering on and wrote some lines and then made numbering off and wrote some lines and then inserted the table and kept the numbering off. Then I copied the text written with numbering on in one cell and then again copied the text written with numbering off in another cell. The result was the numbering style was retained when text written with numbering on was copied and with text with numbering off it worked well. 4.I opened a new text document in Open Office and wrote some lines with numbering off and then inserted the table. Then I turned on the numbering and copied the lines into the table and it worked well as the numbering was started with the table and copying dint involve text that was written with numbering on. 5. I opened a new text document in Open Office and inserted a table and wrote text with ‘Table Heading’ style in one cell. I copied that text into another cell of the table and the result was that the ‘Table heading’ style was retained of the pasted text and it was not changed to ‘Table contents’ style and so it was found to work well now. This bug is important to user because in a table with large no of entries, when text with numbering on is copied, it disrupts the numbering of the table and gets the user into confusion and with the table having critical data, numbering problems may cause a huge loss. It is possible to have numbering style of table, if every time when the text is copied into table, the numbering is made off and cursor is put before the text copied and again the numbering is made on, which is a very tedious task. So, I agree with the viraptor’s idea such that it should be copied with “Table contents’ style or the text pasted should get the style from cell as this will ease the task and make it user friendly. So the bug needs to be taken care of. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.
