My environment as follows: MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1.7601 SP1) Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz Apache OO 4.0.1 Finnish I replicated the original steps by mikeymikemike and the more recent steps by Andrew Gamez, and I was able to reproduce this. No thumbnails are shown when importing slides in Impress.
