Meaning, disabling this feature via Tools Menu and then restarted your PC? More precise steps are; 1. Launch AOO and go to Tools -> Options. 2. Go to OpenOffice.org(My version is still 3.4.1 so this may have been changed to Apache OpenOffice.) -> Memory -> Disable the Quickstarter. 3. Restart PC and wait until startup is complete. 4. Kill all soffice.bin just to make sure, and then open the sample file from bug 120170. 5. Edit and save. Apologies if you have already followed the steps exactly as instructed.
