I suppose that is a matter of opinion based on what the user expects. Regarding "little red triangle indicator" I think that sandyface may be confusing cell comments with the text that overflows from one cell to the adjacent cell. I do agree with sandyface about actively toggling the feature, rather than having to dig into menus to set it as a configuration. This could function much like the "Ctrl-`" toggle to display or hide formulas in cells. Perhaps with "Ctrl-Shift-`".
