@Colin:

a) Apache OpenOffice can be downloaded free of charge from
http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html. If you paid money for it then
you may not have the version released by the Apache Software Foundation.

b) The window on the left side is a slide sorter. It not only displays
previews of slides but it can also be used to change the order of slides. This
can happen by accident when you press the mouse button while over a preview and
then move the mouse pointer (while the mouse button is still pressed.)

c) The diagonal lines in the slide sorter on the left side of the screen mean
that the slide is excluded from the show. It can still be edited but will not
be shown in the slide show (press F5 and you will not see it). To enable it
just click the middle button that appears when your mouse pointer hovers over
the slide preview (button looks like a little white rectangle).

d) Support for sound in slideshows is not as good as it should be. Maybe you
can open another issue for it (we usually describe only a single problem per
issue) and give detailed information for how to reproduce it. An attached bug
document would be great.
