I am unable to replicate this issue on AOO 4.0.1 on Win 7, locally installed. Using Rainer Bielefeld's steps, I repeated the described sequence 3 times. On the fourth iteration, I checked the Backwards options. On the fifth iteration, the Match case option was still available. I chose Match case on first time through the sequence. For the second, third, and fourth times through the sequence, my Match case selection was preserved.
