To re-check this I changed the shadow color to e.g. red in PPT and re-imported in AOO. I would guess that there is some mechanism that switches the shadow on for imported objects only when they have grahical content and not just text. Checked PPT2010, also shows the object shadow at the text. This shows that the shadow should always be applied when set in PPT. Workaround/correction: After load, select the text frame, open Area dialog, select Shadow tabpage, activate shadow by hand. This is a bug, thanks for reporting.
