Screenshot of the Print dialog after clicking the "Preferences" button
When trying to configure printer (by clicking the button in the "Print"
dialog), the "Preferences" button disappears. The button is actually marked
"Właściwości", as it is the Polish language version that I'm using. The
mentioned printer is a HP DesignJet Plotter, driver version 7.10, english.
After closing the "Print" dialog and opening it again, the "Preferences" button
is there again, until you click it. On my computer I also have three different
printers installed. For them, the "Preferences" button works OK. However if the
button disappears while trying to configure the DesignJet, it's also
unavailable for other printers until the Print dialog is reopened. In other
applications like Adobe Acrobat Viewer, or XnView the DesignJet can be reliably
configured and works with no problems.
