contains the errorous paragrah which causes Office to crash when deleting an
empty space
It was not possible to open a writer file with Version 4.1.0 (german) created
with Version 3.4.1 (also german) or earlier (not sure which I had before
updating). Fortunatly Microsoft Word accepted it (the program had also found
some errors before opening it). By copying different paragraphes from Word into
Open Office I found the part that causes Office to crash. The attached file is
the errourous paragraph copied via Word. You can reproduce the crash by
deleting a certain empty space (see explanation in attachment) which was
inserted in Word before. Without this empty space Open Office can not open the
file. The phonetic sign in the paragraph seems to behave strange after editing
and also does not seem to be in the extented symbols list (see examples after
editing in attachment)
By deleting the errourous part in Word (only a few letters) and saving in odt
again I could restore 99,9% of the document. It would be great if Open Office
implies a function that allows to open the document with such bugs. Else I am
fully content with Open Office and had no major problems since and I am using
it. You do a great job!
