It seemed worse with autosave enabled, however the program continues to crash with that function disabled. This is new to 4.1.0, I did not experience this at any stage with the previous version of OpenOffice. In general the program will recover the documents when it is restarted. When it crashes with autosave the green progress bar is static close to the start of the save function, the program becomes inoperative, the only way to recover is to terminate Open Office with the task manager.
