Please try the actual 4.1 version. There have been some bug fixes regarding charts. Please make sure, that in Calc the option "Source format" in tab "Numbers" of the x-axis is not checked. When copying to Impress the chart looses the connections to the spreadsheet data and therefore "source format" makes no sense.
