If it still fails, it will be helpful to have a simplified version of your document (ideally, 1 page only, and remove all private details) in two versions: - The file you open with OpenOffice - The edited file (with comments) saved from OpenOffice Remember that OpenOffice allows you to save (File - Save as) either in ODT or DOC ("Word") format.
