Excel (versions that I know) uses its own clipboard. If one cut an area, this area can only be inserted once, because after inserting the clipboard content is deleted. If you copy something into clipboard and type something before inserting the copied content, the clipboard content is deleted. AOO uses the system clipboard at all operating systems.
