Drag and drop of an image from Finder to an open Writer document should insert
it into the document, as it did correctly until OS X 10.6.8. Instead, since
10.7 it opens a new Draw document.
The issue is platform-specific to OS X 10.7 and later only. Apple possibly have
changed the protocol for Drag & Drop in 10.7. This behavior has also been
reported for other derivates of OO and exists since 2012. Earlier releases of
OO exhibit the same bug.
Drag and drop is the most used and intuitive way to get an image into a
document. This not working is an annoying show stopper.
Going via the "Insert" menu is extremely cumbersome if more than a few images
are involved (software user manuals or product catalogs, for example).
Could someone please look into this, please?
