Steps to reproduce:
1) download Openoffice 4.1.1 on OSX 10.9.4
2) Open program and select Help -> Check for updates...
There are several issues with the dialog box:
1) Stuck in Checking... status
2) The text %PERCENT% is displayed rather than %
3) The status bar obscures the spinner
