I wiped to update my OS to 10.9 and reinstalled Openoffice 4.1.0. After
encountering this error I updated to 4.1.1 and have the same issue. When I try
and assign the Insert->Formula command to a shortcut, it does not work. There
are two Formula commands, the math one which is assigned to F2 (works properly)
and the one which is used to display math text in a document. The behavior is
such that if I assign a different command to the shortcut (I use cmd+shift+u),
then assign the Formula command, it continues to execute the prior command. Ex:
I assign Insert->Frame, cmd+shift+u opens the frame dialog. I assign
Insert->Formula, cmd+shift+u still opens the frame dialog.
