CSK <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #3 from CSK <[email protected]> --- I tried replicating the bug with below configuration, Configuration: Product: Open Office, Microsoft Word Processor Date of Test: 09/22/2014 Version: Open Office Version: 4.1.1 AOO411m6, Build ID 9775, Released 2014-08-21 and AOO410m18, Build ID 9764 Microsoft Word Processor 2010 Version 14.0.4734.1000 (32-bit) Platform: Windows 7 Home Premium – 64 bit Description: The original report describes that when a calendar is created using Microsoft word and tried to open the document using Open office. Found that it was not displayed correctly. Some part of the text was displayed outside the boundary and heading appears on the separate page. When I opened the original document in both the version of OO (4.1.0 and 4.1.1) I could see the header separately as said in the report, However I tried replicating the bug since the original report did not mention about the calendar template name, I couldn’t able to use the exact calendar template used by the reporter. I created a word document (document1.doc) and inserted a calendar template “12-month basic calendar (any year)” in the available pool at office.com templates and opened the same with open office 4.1.1 and found that there is no problem with the heading placement and text out of boundary but there are other problems , (1) There are visible boxes separately for date area, text area and Month area but those are not there in the actual word document. And when I created another document in Microsoft 2010 format (document2.docx) with same calendar template and opened in OO, I found even more problems such as (1) There are visible boxes separately for date area, text area and Month area but those are not there in the actual word document. (2) The days are appearing on the first rows on date columns for every month. Example “Wednesday” is appearing on the first row of the date columns (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) for January month. (3) Also there are series of digits appearing on every month on the last two rows. Example : “24243125” on the date column 25, “24243126” on the date column 26 and so on for the month of January. Steps I followed in replicating the bug: Step 1: I created a word document and selected a calendar template “12-month basic calendar (any year)” in the available pool at office.com templates and saved in lower version of Microsoft word 97-2003 as (document1.doc) Step 2: I created word document and selected a calendar template “12-month basic calendar (any year)” in the available pool at office.com templates and saved in Microsoft word 2010 as (document2.docx) Step3: I inserted some text in the date column with different font’s size randomly and saved both the document. (see document1.doc and document2.docx for sample text) Step 4: I opened the document1.doc using Open office 4.1.1 and I could see boxes separately for date area, text area and Month area but those are not there/visible in the actual word document but the text and the heading was correct.(see document1.odt) Step 5: I opened document2.docx using Open office 4.1.1 and I could see days are appearing on the first rows on date columns for every month. Example “Wednesday” is appearing on the first row of the date columns (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) for January month also there are series of digits appearing on every month on the last two rows. Example: “24243125” on the date column 25, “24243125” on the date column 26 and so on for the month of January but the text and the heading was correct(see document2.odt) Follow-up Test: I tried with different calendar templates on two different windows-7 machines (32 bit and 64 bit) available at the office.com and each one behaves differently. For Example I tried with calendar template “Monthly Calendar (Modern Solid design)”, when I saved the document in lower version of Microsoft 97-2003 format (document3.jpg) and opening in Open office 4.1.1 shows no issues(document3oo.jpg) but when I saved the word document in 2010 (document4docx.jpg) format and opening in Open office 4.1.1 shows(document4oo.jpg) the document to be corrupted. Speculation: I found a confirmed bug “25932”which was reported in 2004 as an enhancement type stating that Open office needs Calendar wizard in writer. So I speculate that Open office still does not have calendar wizard program and it works unevenly when a word document is opened with OO. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
