No, I did not previously click on the link as the context of your SECOND comment did not indicate that the link was to information on resetting the OO user profile. I have now read the instructions provided in the link and renamed my old user file so a new one would be created. Impress still crashes, so the issue was not the user file. As more than one person is having issues with Impress, it could be an issue with the program itself interacting with Windows 8.1. I'm open to suggestions on how to troubleshoot this.
