When modifying an existing document I marked a text at the end of the first
line, consiting of 15+ chars. Then I pasted a much shorter text, 8+ chars, to
that marked position. Afterwards a part of the just rewritten text still is
shown on the screen without marking and but when I press del, these phantom
chars vanish at once. This is misleading.
