Job description download saved in MS Word 97/2000/xp format with table text
changed to Arial..
I had downloaded a job description from the Internet and proceeded to reformat
it when I ran into a lot of trouble. I saved the original file in MS Word
97/2000/xp format.
Text was inside boxes within the document and there was a 3x13 table in the
middle of the doc. As I changed the font to Arial, particularly in the table,
Open Office (OO) closed down repeatedly. Something about the Arial font and the
table that OO could not deal with.
I solved the problem by:
- saving the file in .odt format
- changing the font to Calibri
- making small changes and saving often ...
and was able to reformat the file successfully. The trouble file is attached.
Am running Windows 8 on an Acer s7 laptop. Firefox is browser.
