When in full screen (maximized) mode in a OO app (Calc and Writer), and I
either exit via menu or click the X in the upper left corner of the screen, the
screen goes blank, and menu gets "reduced" to two options: OpenOffice and File.
I then have to select OpenOffice > Quit to quit the application. Otherwise, it
continues to operate in the background.
NOTE: This is only for maximized screen mode. I do not encounter this issue
when using "non-maximized" screen mode.
