Please change the sample document, that it only contains one frame which shows the problem, and make the document as short as possible. The change in the dialog is intended. The goal is to unify the fill properties of all objects. Therefore a frame in Writer has got the ability to have not only color and bitmap background but hatching and gradient too. Which version of LibreOffice do you have used?
