I downloaded Apache Open Office version 4.1.1 only yesterday. Previously had
version 3.3. I too received the error box: SEH Exception: ACCESS VIOLATION.
Until now never had a problem with the previous version 3.3. I have a slide
presentation with 188 slides, mostly photos, but also text. I have a HP
Pavilion dv7 with 6GB ram Intel Core i7 processor 64-bit. I split the file
into two files, one with 90 slides and one with 98 slides in the hope the files
would be small enough that Apache's software could handle it, but to no avail.
If Apache cannot fix the problem, I see two options: Try to download version
3.3, if it is still available, or save the presentation in Power Point format,
suffix ppt, and then download PowerPoint viewer, which is free. Quite
irritating. Last year I had a presentation with 218 slides about Belgium, and
it worked flawless.
