These five pages were reduced from 322 pages and anonymized.

When I start editing a particular file with Writer or when I move a line, other
lines move unpredictably. This can happen even if those lines have the
"protect position" attribute. Usually the change is that Writer changes the
vertical position from "paragraph text area" to "margin" and the line falls to
the bottom of the page. These diagrams are in tables that have one row and one
column. Is there a better way to create a diagram with boxes and lines?
This has been happening for years and happens with the latest Writer
(4.1.1). The document is 322 pages but I have reduced it to five pages in a
demonstration file that is attached. My theory is a macro that accumulated
over the years but I do not know how to debug macros. Today it showed a new
behavior. Lines on page 5 moved to page 4 instead of to the bottom of the
current page.
This document originated decades ago with SCRIPT/VS on CMS. It was
converted to HTML with a tool called B2H. Then Microsoft Word was used to
convert it to Word. Later it was converted to Lotus Symphony and eventually to
OpenOffice Writer. The problems described here have existed since at least
Symphony.
To help with document recovery I found that I could manually fix a diagram
and print a clean version. Using the printed version, I can manually restore a
diagram much faster but that is a ridiculous way to do things.
Several times today Writer crashed with this demo file. It is easily
recoverable but Writer does not try to submit a failure report.
