If I try to open with MS-Word viewer, it displays 915 empty pages. Sounds like a corrupted document. Check the temporary folder of your system (see in OOo Tools>Options>OOo>Paths). If there are folders like *.tmp with a file having the same name inside, make a copy of that file, rename it in .doc and cross your fingers. Basically, if you use AOO, better avoid working in external formats like .doc. Remember that the import/export filters have been reverse engineered.
