There seem to be two possibly separate problems.

First, start Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 and confirm that it does start up
properly. Start it directly. No need to open a document.

With AOO 4.1.1 go to its Tools > Options menu. Under the OpenOffice > Memory >
OpenOffice Quickstarter item, remove any check-mark for "Load OpenOffice during
system start-up".

Click OK

Exit Apache OpenOffice.

Restart your Windows 10 system.

Note: At this point you do not need to uninstall 4.1.1, since 4.1.2 will
install over it properly.

If you do want to uninstall 4.1.1, do the following. Otherwise, skip to the
install instruction, further down.

Now go to the Start menu list of all programs and find "OpenOffice 4.1.1" in
the list. It is a folder. Open the folder and right click on the "OpenOffice"
entry, then click Uninstall.

This should take you to the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
dialog. Find OpenOffice 4.1.1 in that (alphabetical) list. Right click on
that entry and select Uninstall.

The Uninstall should operate. Let us know if it does not. Restart your
machine again to ensure that the registry now reflects the absence of AOO
4.1.1.

Installing 4.1.2
----------------

You should have an .exe that was downloaded via
<http://www.openoffice.org/download>. You should be able double-click on that
file and go through the install procedure. Allow it to run, and continue
through the steps that are presented.

If that does not work, please provide a screen capture of what it presents if
it fails.
